ClimateLong summer evenings and punting on the river

The Weather in Cambridge is typical of the UK. The Spring weather from March to May is fairly mild although sometimes rainy, and is a beautiful time to visit Cambridge as the flowers and trees begin to bloom in the cities many gardens and parks. The Summer months of May-September are often very sunny and warm (20 -25 degrees Celsius) with glorious long summer evenings and it is at this time that the River Cam will be a hive of activity with many tourists enjoying something Cambridge is famous for - punting on the river.

Autumn (September-November) is again relatively mild with temperatures fluctuating around 7-18 degrees Celsius.

Although there will be some fine, sunny days in Winter we recommend students bring a good winter coat, gloves, scarves and a beanie/hat to stay warm on their way from home to campus. University residences are all equipped with central heating as is the campus so students can expect to be comfortably warm inside. From December to early March, the temperatures average between 0-10 degrees Celsius.
